Settlements from Kondul island, Andaman and Nicobar islands

The Kondul people are amongst the many other tribal settlements of Nicobar islands living on a tiny island off Great Nicobar island. In an attempt to document their lifestyle, Dr. Varadrajan has clicked them in Kondul island, and South Point.

In this photo series, she photographs the Ruei boat and the carvings on its stern.

In addition, she documents the use of the pandanus fruit. The kondul people have many uses for the pandanus or umrop. Here, a lady is shown as making pulp out of boiled fruits. Eventually, this pulp is used for a pandanus cake.
