The Onge tribals settlements are Andamanese indegenous people of Little Andamans. The Onge people have mostly settled in Dugong Creek and South Bay.
They comprise a very small population which has consistently been on the decline due to changing habitat and eating habits. They are completely dependent on hunting and gathering for food.
The Tsunami caused by the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake is said to have drastically affected the Onge population and it is estimated to be only about 100 in number now. The photo series shows members of the Onge community from 1996.
